Strawberry Farm

Strawberry Farm

Red, ripe and delicious: there are few foods that can rival the strawberry. This sweet and acidic berry is an absolute treat no doubt and it’s even better when you are absolutely certain that the strawberry you are consuming is organic and pure. For this purpose, we take you on a tour of one of our partner farms in Sharakpur, District Sheikhupura. All strawberries grown here are a 100% natural and pesticide free.

The acres of land is spread into rows of green foliage as red and lime green specks peek from beneath. The mild sun shines above, bringing out the freshness and variety in the shades of green. Rustling cool wind breaks through the sunlight, swaying leaves, indicating the onset of spring season, which is the harvesting period for strawberries, starting from the end of January till late April. The soft spoil between the rows of strawberry foliage reflects the fertility of the land and its closes to river Ravi. With modern sustainable farming techniques used in this land, high yield and premium quality produce is assured.

Farmers after days and nights of consistent labour, get ready to reap the fruit. The farm workers, which include both men and women, work collectively to hand pick the ripe strawberries.

On the other side of the strawberry filled field, the workers sit and sort through their hand-picked berries. The sun has set; work is almost finished; workers start preparing to go to their homes after the grind of the day. The sky starts to darken with hues of orange and red as day concludes on the strawberry orchard. The next few days ahead will involve much of the same routine for the farmers: hours and hours of strawberry picking and packaging to bring to our customers.
